Sama or Samvat Rice also commonly called as vrat ke chawal are tiny, white, round grains belonging to the millet family. It is glutten free grain and is a good health option during fasting days. It does not cook into separate grains like long grained rice. It is sticky and stays a bit soggy after cooking, somewhat like smaller versions of saboodana. Have them plain or with vrat ki kadhi during this fasting season.
